Force India most likely to include Adrian Sutil in their 2013 driver line-up – Formula 1 news
Force India are set to make the announcement about their 2013 driver line-up and are most likely to include Adrian Sutil as Nico Hulkenberg’s replacement.
Hulkenberg has planned to leave the Silverstone based team and has signed a new contract with Sauber for the next season where he is going to replace Sergio Perez who will move to McLaren.
On the other hand, his teammate, Paul di Resta has secured his race seat in the team and it is expected that he will drive alongside Sutil in the coming year.
According to IANS, Force India will hopefully announce their next year’s driver line-up in the next week. Even though, Sutil has been very much considered as the potential replacement of Hulkenberg. However, the team principal, Vijay Mallya is also looking
forward to other options too which mainly include Bruno Senna and Kamui Kobayashi who were with Williams and Sauber in 2012.
“The announcement should take place next week. Adrian looks the best bet to partner di Resta as he has got required experience in F1. At the same time, Mr. Mallya also considered all other available options,” a Force India source told IANS.
It will be interesting to mention that Sutil had raced with Force India for four successive seasons and was replaced by his compatriot, Hulkenberg during the start of this year.
In addition, it is to be noted that chief operating officer of Force India, Otmar Szafnauer has recently said that driver’s sponsorship is not important for them in making their decision and they are searching for talent.
Furthermore, he said that they are targeting to come up stronger in the next season so as to attain better position in the drivers’ as well as the constructors’ championship.
“I am a believer that you need someone like that,” Szafnauer told Autosport. “Not everyone does, and it is a subconscious thing. You think you are driving the best you can, but there is nothing like competition for us humans to really sharpen our focus,
attention and skills in all sort of stuff. If you have competition you end up driving yourself more.”
