Force India remain first choice for Adrian Sutil for 2012 Formula 1 season – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Adrian Sutil revealed that he wants to stay with Force India for the 2012 Formula 1 season and has no plans of moving to Williams.
Sutil’s manager Manfred Zimmerman confirmed this on Tuesday, September 20, 2011.
Zimmerman while speaking to the Daily Mail said, “Our first choice for 2012 is Force India. At this time there is no action talking to other teams.”
He has denied all speculations regarding Sutil’s deal with Williams’ for the next season and has clearly stated that his first choice will always be Force India.
Sutil is happy at Force India and has no plans of making a move as of now, he said.
Force India will not reveal its drivers’ line-up for 2012 until the close of this season and Williams too have not finalised who will be driving alongside Pastor Maldonado. Despite that, Zimmerman has confirmed that no deal has taken place between Sutil
and Williams or any other team for that matter.
Medion, which has been the German driver’s prime sponsor until now, will have to work out a separate deal with Sutil’s team in future.
Commenting on Sutil’s sponsors, Zimmerman said, “There is no need to bring sponsors or money to a team for Adrian. Last year and this year, he is fighting for a top ten result in the world championship. Medion make their decision after we have signed a contract.
If there is a nice offer they become a sponsor of the team, if not, they will not.”
The 28-year-old German driver is currently at the 12th position with 34 points in the driver’s championship. He has to put in a lot of effort to secure points if he wishes to finish off the season in the top ten.
Sutil’s 6th place in the German Grand Prix at Nurburgring held earlier this season is no doubt his best performance of this season.
Sutil is determined to prove his driving talent to the Formula 1 world and his personal target is winning a first place at the podium.
His contract with Force India expires at the end of this year and with speculations regarding his possible link-up with Williams for next year having been ruled out, let’s see what the future holds for Sutil.
