Force India set to launch their 2013 car on February 1 – Formula 1 news
Force India have announced on twitter that they are set to launch their 2013 car at Silverstone, UK on February 1 next year ahead of the first pre-season test which is to be held at Jerez circuit.
The Silverstone based squad are the first one to announce the launch date for their next year’s car and have planned to unveil it at the British circuit just before heading towards Spain for the first test.
“So we've pencilled in Friday 1st of February for the presentation of our 2013 car in the UK,” the team announced on Twitter. “That's the week before testing begins in Spain.”
Force India emerged as one of the most competitive midfield contenders in this season and their drivers, Nico Hulkenberg and Paul di Resta performed tremendously well.
It will be important to mention that Hulkenberg has planned to join Sauber in the next season as Sergio Perez’s replacement who has signed a new multi-year contract with McLaren.
On the other hand, Perez is going to replace Lewis Hamilton who has decided to join Mercedes as Michael Schumacher’s replacement. Furthermore, Schumacher has taken retirement from the sport.
Although, the Silverstone based team has not finalised its next year’s driver line-up until now. Nevertheless, Di Resta’s race seat is confirmed and the second driver is expected to be announced soon.
There have been a lot of speculations that Adrian Sutil is most probably going to race with Force India in the next season alongside Di Resta.
Meanwhile, the German driver has also shown an earnest desire to secure a race seat at Force India and is now free to travel any country which is included in the 2013 F1 calendar.
“We checked of course me and my management we checked all the countries and there's no problem for me to travel, so that's why I'm also here in Bangkok without any trouble!” Sutil said. “So all the problems I had last winter are solved, it's a new beginning.”
“They know who I am, they know how to work with me so in the last five years we've got a lot of experience,” he added.
