Force India team boss Vijay Mallya eyeing consistency - Formula 1 Update
Force India’s team boss, Vijay Mallya, is pleased with the performance of his team in the Formula 1 season until now and expects to score points in every race from now onwards.
Mallya's team is currently placed at number eight in the constructor’s Championship, with four points.
An optimistic Mallya, said, “I think that overall we can be pleased with our start to the season. To have points on the board and a car that is capable of qualifying in the top 10 means we are well placed to build on our competitiveness as we begin the European
season.”
The Indian team boss further added, “I'm very proud of both our drivers, too. Paul has driven superbly and has adapted very quickly to Formula 1. Combined with Adrian's speed and experience, I see no reason why we cannot challenge for points at every race
this year.”
Force India has planned some upgrades for the Turkish Grand Prix, which will take place on Sunday, May 8, 2011. The team has claimed to take great strides ahead in the upcoming races. Most of the teams will be bringing major updates for the next race and
the team which manages to run all their systems perfectly, will take the edge over others.
The winter testing did not prove to be an ideal one for Force India and it appeared that the team would not be able to battle on the circuit. The team did manage to put things together though, scoring points in the opening two races of the season in Australia
and Malaysia, respectively.
The third race of the season in China did not prove to be an ideal one for the team, as both drivers, Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta, finished without any points. The performance of the rookie driver was encouraging though, as he qualified eighth on the
grid, which was the best of the season for the team. He was also close to scoring points for the third race in a row, but finished on the 11th place.
Although Force India have started well in this season, teams like Sauber and Toro Rosso have been more consistent and will be challenging in the upcoming races.
