Force India team principal Vijay Mallya admires departing Nico Hulkenberg – Formula 1 news
Force India team principal, Vijay Mallya has admired the performance of their driver, Nico Hulkenberg during the last two years, following the confirmation of his move to Sauber in 2013.
Hulkenberg has always been considered as one of the finest talent in the sport and after he was dropped by Williams couple of years back, he joined the Silverstone based team as a reserve driver in 2011. Afterwards, he managed to secure a race seat in his
team for the current season and has performed quite convincingly until now.
The German driver has recently confirmed that he is going to join the Hinwil based team in the coming year as Sergio Perez’s replacement.
On the other hand, Perez has signed a new multi-year deal with McLaren and will drive as Jenson Button’s teammate from the next year onwards.
Mallya has expressed his gratitude towards the 25-years-old for all his efforts and remarkable performances during the last couple of seasons.
“It has been a pleasure to have Nico with us for the last couple of years,” Mallya said.
Furthermore, he said that Hulkenberg has got some extraordinary talent and driving skills which they assessed two years back. He also said that their star driver has performed tremendously well with his teammate, Paul di Resta in the season so far and has
attained promising results for the team.
“At the end of 2010 we identified him as a star of the future and it has been rewarding to watch him develop his racing skills. Together with Paul [di Resta] he has done a brilliant job for us, helping the team score more points than ever before and giving
100% commitment every weekend,” he said.
In addition, he thanked their driver and wished him best of luck for the future. Besides, he said that they are looking forward to score competitive points in the remaining three grands prix of the ongoing season so as to secure a good position in this year’s
championship.
“With three races remaining this season, we know Nico will remain totally committed and continue to deliver his best performances for the team,” he added.
