Force India team principal Vijay Mallya happy with Monaco Grand Prix show – Formula 1 news
Force India team Principal Vijay Mallya has said that he is very happy with Adrian Sutil’s performance in the recently held Monaco Grand Prix, as he picked up some useful points for the team in the end.
He admitted that it was a great time for the team when their driver, Sutil was pushed to make a good progress during the Monte Carlo race.
Force India had disappointing races after the first Australian Grand Prix. However, Sutil pushed the team forward in Monaco.
Mallya admitted that the Monaco Grand Prix was one of his favourite races of the   2011 Formula 1 season so far. He praised the performance of his driver, as he successfully finished his race in the seventh spot and picked up six points.
Mallya said, “The six points scored will be important for our battle in the world championship because the teams around us are all very competitive. We have a real fight on our hands if we want to catch Sauber and we must continue working hard to maintain
our advantage over Toro Rosso.”
Apart from the Monaco race, he discussed the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix. He went on to mention, “Our attention now turns to Montreal, a venue where our cars have traditionally gone well. There are also a few more subtle detail changes to the bodywork as
we continue to extract more and more performance from the car.”
Force India informed the media that they are busy working on their car. The team planned to introduce more developments for the Montreal race weekend. They believe that it will increase the car’s downforce at the Canadian racetrack and allow the drivers
to challenge for more points for the team.
On the other hand, the team driver Sutil is hoping for his best finish at the next race weekend. He added that the Canadian race will be a real adventure for Force India team, as he aims to make good progress there.
The German also discussed his previous race performance and added that he is quite happy with his current condition in the season. He mentioned that he wanted to adopt a one-stop strategy in Monaco, but after getting the signals from the team, he had to
take the second stop during the race and that made him lose one position.
After getting six points in the Monaco race weekend, the team is focusing to make more improvements for their run at the Montreal race taking place on June 12, 2011 in Canada.
