Force India team principal Vijay Mallya wants his team to keep working hard – Formula 1 news
Force India team principal, Vijay Mallya wants his team to keep working hard to improve their performance in the forthcoming races so as to emerge as the best midfield contender.
The Silverstone based team is presently standing at 8th place in the constructors’ championship with 44 points. Moreover, they are 38 points ahead of Toro Rosso and 15 points behind Sauber-Ferrari.
Besides, in the current season, they have appeared as one of the most favourite teams in the midfield. However, Mallya believes that they have potential to achieve more and he wants his team to keep pushing hard to attain good results in the forthcoming
races to make their position stronger in this year’s championship.
“We arrive back at Silverstone off the back of our strongest performance of the year,” Mallya said. “In fact, the 16 points scored in Valencia are most we have ever scored in one weekend. Those points have proved to be very valuable, bringing us within a
point of Williams and just 16 adrift of Sauber. So we are catching up with our nearest competitors quite quickly. Now we need to keep up the momentum.”
In addition, he said that they are aiming to launch some major updates in the car and hope to see improvements in 2012 British Grand Prix which is to be held at Silverstone Circuit on July 8.
“We will have some developments for the car this weekend and we will certainly give our all to try and come away with another strong result,” he said.
Presently, Paul di Resta of Force India is at 11th place in the drivers’ championship with 27 points. Additionally, he is 6 points ahead of Kamui Kobayashi of Sauber and just 2 points behind Pastor Maldonado of Williams.
On the other hand, his teammate, Nico Hulkenberg is at 14th position in the drivers’ rankings with 17 points and has performed quite convincingly in the season so far.
Over and above, they are trying their best to make the necessary advancements and the considerable preparations to improve the pace of their car for the approaching races. Let’s see how the season progresses for them.
