Force India’s Adrian Sutil involved in a “night club incident” with CEO of Renault’s owner, Eric Lux
It has recently been revealed that Force India’s Adrian Sutil was involved in a “night club incident” with the CEO of Renault’s owner, Genii Capital’s Eric Lux, following the Chinese Grand Prix.
Sutil along with Lewis Hamilton and some other Formula 1 individuals were celebrating the 2008 Formula 1 world champion’s first victory of the 2011 Formula 1 season at the MINT nightclub where Adrian and Eric got involved in an argument.
The Force Indian driver has recently admitted that the two did get involved in an altercation but added that any “injuries” sustained were “accidental”.
“At the event, which I attended as a private person, something happened which was a very unfortunate action on my part. I injured another person completely unintentionally. I regret the incident very much and have apologized”, said Sutil.
He added that since this was a private matter and it did not have any connection with Formula 1 in any way, he is not willing to answer any more questions regarding the matter.
Lux, on the other hand, was seen with scars on his neck during the Turkish Grand Prix and there were reports that he required stitches for that glass wound.
A spokesperson from Renault revealed that the CEO of Genii Capital was involved in this incident but did not reveal anything else as he was not aware of the details.
“I can confirm that there has been an incident on Sunday after the Chinese GP involving Eric Lux, from Genii Capital. Lotus Renault GP is however not in a position to make any comments, as it is a private matter between Eric and the other person”, said the
team’s spokesperson.
The FIA (International Automobile Federation) has confirmed that they will not be taking any action regarding this incident as it is does not have anything to do with Formula 1.
Sutil is currently at 13th place in the drivers’ standings with just 2 points but he is hoping for better results in the near future for his team.
