Force India’s Paul di Resta praises team for upgrades for the Singapore Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Force India’s Paul di Resta has recently praised his team after scoring the 6th place at the 2011 Singapore Grand Prix.
He claims that the team brought some new upgrades before stating that the team did a spectacular job with the car throughout the weekend in order to successfully apply these upgrades.
“I'm very happy with the outcome. I don't think the safety car really helped us because I still had a lot of life left in the supersoft tyres in the middle of the race, but it didn't really hurt us either. After that it was a case of managing my pace to
Rosberg, looking after the tyres and bringing the car home,” said di Resta.
The Singapore Grand Prix was quite dramatic and eventful in the mid-field as Michael Schumacher retired out of the race as a result of a crash. Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber had a fierce battle for 3rd place as well
almost throughout the race.
Di Resta on the other hand had a smooth race and throughout the whole Singapore Grand Prix weekend, Force India scored some very impressive results as both of the team’s drivers qualified in the Q3 session of the qualifying round.
“It's probably my best race of the season, but it's the result of all the hard work behind the scenes. We came here with an upgrade package that has allowed us to gain performance in the race, gain tyre life, and we saw the benefits of that today,” said
the Scotsman.
Paul’s teammate Adrian Sutil also finished in 8th place giving the team a much needed double point finish and now, Force India have a pretty handy lead over Sauber in the constructors’ standings for the 6th place.
With just 5 races left in the 2011 Formula 1 season, Sauber must be hoping of scoring some extraordinary results each weekend in order to defeat Force India in the constructors’ standings.
