Force India’s Paul di Resta shows respect for the Suzuka racetrack – Formula 1 news
Force India’s Paul di Resta has decided to extend his respects to the Suzuka racetrack where he will be driving at the 2011 Japanese Grand Prix for the very first time.
The Brit stated that the racetrack is absolutely amazing.
Di Resta said, “It's one of those venues that stand out because all the drivers love it and say great things about it.”
The ongoing 2011 Formula 1 season is di Resta’s debut season in the sport, and it is great to see the way the Brit has progressed with his performances at the races held so far. He is learning quickly and picking up pace.
He had the chance to visit a number of tracks in 2010 as Force India’s reserve driver, but the Suzuka track was not on the list and hence he is eager and excited to go there so that he can get hands on experience of the circuit.
The Force India team currently sits at the sixth spot on the constructors’ championship standings and under the strong leadership of team boss Vijay Mallya, the team is aiming on climbing up to the fifth position by the end of this season.
The UK-based outfit recently installed some new upgrades to its VJM04 which will hopefully assist the squad in making its way up to its targeted 5th spot by beating its rivals Renault. It will not be an easy task for them nonetheless the team is confident
and says, “It’s definitely achievable.”
The 25-year-old Brit said, “I'm feeling very positive. Things have really come together quite well in the middle part of the year and I think we've delivered as a team. In Singapore the upgrade package worked as we expected and contributed to the end result.
That's a big credit to the team and we've all worked very hard to achieve these recent results.”
It seems like di Resta is in a strong form right now, as 18 points out of the 20 scored so far have been from the last four races, so the Brit is in good shape to put up a great show at the upcoming race at Suzuka.
The Japanese Grand Prix starts this weekend from October 7-9, 2011 and will be held at the Suzuka racetrack.
Let’s see how Paul di Resta and Force India fare in the upcoming race.
