Forced Kings?

Question

Does anyone know of any kings who was forced into becoming king for some reason (maybe they were part of the family) and then they screwed things up?

Or if u dont know any kings, anything else similar to this situation. Thanks!

Yes, George VI was a reluctant king.  George VI became king on 12 December 1936 when his brother Edward VIII abdicated to marry twice divorced Wallis Simpson.

However, it cannot be said that George VI "screwed things up"  He and his family were good for the country and much loved.  His daughter is Queen Elizabeth II.

I don't know any Kings that were forced but there was an English Queen that was forced to take over the throne, and she was executed 9 days later. She was famoulsy known as Lady Jane Gray, the uncrowned Queen. Lady Jane Grey, (1536/7 — 12 February 1554), a grand-niece of Henry VIII of England, reigned as uncrowned Queen regnant of the Kingdom of England for nine days in July 1553, and for that reason is called "The Nine Days Queen".
