Forced to purchase my own health insurance! Help! Anyone ever found reasonably priced insurance?

I discovered the plan I am offered at work not only comes at an outrageous cost, but sucks! I cannot afford a plan requiring me to pay $170/week for myself and $660/week for self plus spouse. (Sounds like mistake, but is not.)

Anyone found reasonable insurance outside of their workplace? If so, who? And do you knkow how much for self plus spouse?

If so, please answer! Regardless of the next paragraph!!!

I am of average health at 28 (meaning not much wrong) but my wife at 27 has had health issues more than the average person. I realize independent insurers reject a lot. Any advice on

  1. there is no a easy solution for your question.however,it is not solvable though.here is the good resource i have been referring.http://health-insurance.expert-tip.info/...

  2. Nope. Health insurance is expensive because health care is expensive. Your employer pays a good chunk of your coverage. However, your wife is on her own. She needs to find a job that provides her with coverage. It will be alot cheaper than trying to get her on your policy.

  3. yes they do reject a lot- but good way to try to sell you his insurance

I wouldn't trust somone who says that

Also, trying to sell people here, your in the wrong place, go solicit someplace else!!

    Broker here

    Hey, he went away

Yes if your wife has medical conditions you are in a tough situation. It is cobra or most likely a denial.

  4. buy a high deductible like 5000/7500...aarp,mutualofomaha

  5. Actually $170 a week doesn't sound like a lot to pay for health insurance, assuming it's a policy that would fit your needs.  The huge charge is when you add your spouse, which of course the employer is not obligated to do.  I'd suggest it would be a good idea for your spouse to get his/her own coverage and you to take your employer's coverage.

Hopefully you or your spouse can find a better job with better coverage in the near future.
