  1. Are they hooking left or do they start left and go straight? If it's getting worse, you're probably trying to compensate for it (maybe without even knowing it) which often makes it worse if you don't know what you're doing wrong.

  2. Aim a little right.

  3. open your club head

  4. Right handed I guess?

    1. fold your right elbow in on your take away don't let it get up and out or you might go over the top and move it left.

    2. When you are striking the ball make sure your head does not move in front of the ball, it should be even with or actually behind the ball a little at impact.

  5. There are many cures for many problems and this is bar-none the simplest. Don't look at the ball when you are addressing your shot. Look at your target and loosen up your body, waggle a few times and let the clubhead rest on the ground but don't look at it. Relax and let the clubhead sit there for a couple of seconds. If it feels a little weird do another waggle and let it sit on the ground again. Wait a couple seconds... Now look at the clubhead. That's where it should be in your stance at address. The problem is you don't separate the looks. You try to look at the ball and the target as one or you end up blending them together. This drill will separate the two things you are concentrating on and help you see the bigger picture by breaking it down into its parts. Good luck.

  6. aim right.

  7. The simplest cure is to move the ball back three inches. This will affect the timing of your release though. Try to emphasize an inside to out swing path. It will help the ball start right of the target line. Then it can draw back without damage to your score. As a twenty two handicapper, work on chipping and putting. A pitch is the same shot as a full swing, but on a smaller scale. If you can cure your impact position (Which is what chipping and pitching is all about, that six inches of contact), then your full shots will follow. Remember that if you can't hit a shot straight thirty yards, how can you hit one straight 130 or 230. Fix the short game, find the physics of your good swings, and apply it to the full swing. Good luck, and ignore the frustration. Just remember, after every bad shot you get a chance to work on another part of your game.

  8. I have 2 ideas.

    1) when you are practicing or even on the course, put a small marker of some kind, even a leaf, bald of grass, something that you can see out of the corner of your eye when you are addressing the ball. put this about 1-2 inches in front of the ball on the target line, concentrate on following thru along this marker and this will help you keep the club going in the correct path towards the target and help keep you from closing the club face, or rolling your wrists too soon that causes the ball flight to go left.

    2) the other idea is to over compensate for a few practice shots were you do what ever you need to do, to force the ball to go right. then slowly move back towards your normal swing, and when you feel the ball going left again, start forcing yourself to overcompensate and hit it to the right.

    hope these help

  9. Next time you play, have some watch your allignment...maybe you are aimed left.

Check your setup.  It may sound silly, but put your hands on the club the same way each time.  Be sure the clubface is the same each time.  Be sure the ball position relative to your stance is the same each time for that club. Place your feet the same way each time.  This preshot routine takes little time and the rewards are great..i.e. consistency.

When I try to force a distance out of a club, it sometimes goes left so I aim a little right.

    Have fun!!!!
