Question:

Ford 2008 Escape For First Car?

by  |  earlier

It's my 16th birthday in December and my parents have allowed me to get a car. I have a maximum price of $30,000. I've "designed" a Ford 2008 Escape on line for only $20,835.

It seems such a great car, does anyone have this car or know anyone who has this car? I'd like to know if anyone's experienced any problems with it before making my final decision.

I've seen a few cars that I like, but this one sticks out for some reason.

  1. Well for 30k there are way many more better cars for you.

But if you want that type of SUV I would suggest maybe a jeep grand cherokee, they start at 30k. They look way nicer then the escape.

Since you are getting a brand new car you should really think about what you will still want 6 months from now. I bought a truck for my first car and after six months I ended up selling it and buying a mustang.

Nissan altima and the honda accord would also be great options for you.

Nissans are some of the most reliable cars you can find, and they look great too.

  2. the Escape is a great small suv

    its safety features include:

    Ford safety technologies include:

The Safety Canopy® side-curtain air bag rollover protection system is a Ford exclusive

feature that helps protect front and rear outboard passengers in both rollovers and

side-impact crashes. It is designed to stay inflated for several seconds, as rollover

crashes often last much longer than side-impact crashes.

AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control is the industry's only electronic stability control

system that uses a unique gyroscopic sensor to monitor and help the driver prevent

both side-to-side "yaw" and roll motions that may lead to rollovers.

Personal Safety System®, a suite of seven safety technologies, including dual-stage

front air bags for the driver and front-seat passenger, and a front-passenger sensing

system. Together, the system helps customize front air-bag deployment levels based

on driver seating location, passenger weight and safety belt usage.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System alerts drivers when tire pressure is low. Properly

inflated tires are not only important for safety -- they can also help save gas.

LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system for installation of child safety

  3. Bought my wife a '05 new. she loves it and with no problems at all. '08 gets even better fuel economy than her '05.You want it then get it and happy for you. They are great vehicles and look good. Want to know how I know? 27 years automotive technician and 6 years automotive instructor @ community college. Good luck and take care of your new vehicle whatever it may be and keep the maintenance on it at a regular basis. Have a great day.

  4. I have a 2001 escape that I bought new,and have been very pleased with it.However I would find one with a V6.Good luck.

  5. It'll get great gas milage but it has a lot of tire problems, computer problems and suspension issues.  Just be sure to have it readily inspected by a mechanic (a good one) before you put the money down.

May I recommend a Saturn Vue?  Saturn has great gas milage and a lot of reliability if you want an SUV.  Otherwise a Toyotas, Chevys and Hondas all make awesome sedans that are just as good and give even better gas milage.

  6. spoiled brat. i had to work for my first car.

but definitely go with a ford :D

  7. DO NOT get a ford escape.first off, its a ford.and second of all they have a lot of problems...and personally i think there kinda ugly.but go with a wayyy more fuel efficient car like a honda accord or sumthin.plus u can get a honda or something better for way less than 30 grand
