Ford Escort, 1998 turbo diesel 1.8 spot light opperation left hand drive?

On my escort the built in bumper spot lights do not work (I do not have a handbook) they have a separate switch, which does have a 12volt feed to it, also the fuse number 32? Also has power through it!

So do these lamps operate off the dipswitch, ie when you dip the mail headlights do these turn off?

Or are they completely independent! Any help in getting these to work would be appreciated.

  1. Your spotlights should only work in conjunction with main beam headlights - front foglights or 'driving lights' may work with sidelights, dipped headlights or main beam.

If they're in the bumper, they're front foglights.

  2. If you've checked for supply to/from the switch, then the next step is to check for supply at the lamps, If yes, then it could be blown bulbs or no/bad earth connection, ( the sidelights must be on, but if you've got supply, then you know this)...
