Ford Fiesta Missing Power Steering?

Question

Hi,

my boyfriend and I recently bought a 1996 Ford Fiesta LX (1.3) P plate which has no power steering? But we are not sure whether it's because the vehicle had power steering which for some reason was removed or whether this particular make/model didn't have power steering in the first place, any ideas? Also information on the cost of putting in power steering would be of great help as it may/may not be worth doing!

The Ford Fiesta was a little economic car made by Ford so it could be bought extremely cheap. Not to mention they are tossed together little cars trust me I work in a dealership and us techs dread them little s***s...

Anyways, they were built without power steering systems as the less accessories..(a/c, power steering etc) that they have to run the more efficient and cost effective they are.

you're doing good if it even runs...i wouldn't worry about power steering.

Remember the YUGO?

the fiesta was fords answer to it.  It sold for about $3000 brand spanking new so no it probably never had power steering

As for putting in power steering. it would cost more than the car would ever be worth. (unless you made it a hot rod)
