Ford Mustang or Mazda RX-8 Grand Touring?

Mazda RX-8 is much better and cooler looking. And has a 9mph higher top speed, but the Mustang GT accelerates faster.

Two way different cars, and I don't like either!

Contrary to the person above me, the Rx-8 does not have a wide power band, the rotary engine is useless unless you redline it every time. I suggest you go test drive one, and you'll know what I mean. The rotary engine gets poor MPG, lacks torque, and does not come with a lot of HP. Also, the handling is nothing special, any old 3 series BMW will outhandle it in an autocross event with stock suspension.

The Mustang is classic american muscle; decent in a straight line, useless around the first turn. This could be countered with aftermarket supsension parts. If I had to get one, I'd take the mustang and modify the suspension. You couldn't pay me to get the RX-8.

Oh yeah, women flock to the mustang because they think their mom just came to pick them up. Nobody cares about Mustangs, plain and simple.

that depends on what you plan on doing.  The rx-8 has a very high power band, and can corner like no other.  but in a drag race nothing is quite like a mustang.  If impressing the ladies is what you like, the mustang hands down!  I have owned a 1967 mustang, a 1988 rx-7, and a 2003 mustang.  both are a ton of fun, but hands down the mustang gathers women like no other car.  And for the cash, the old mustangs rock!
