Right I'm about to buy a car and I'm choosing between the two cars above. I have 1.5k to spend, so not a great budget but something to work with.

Any thoughts of both cars would be very much appreciated.

Cheers guys :)

  1. I have owned two Pumas, both 1700s, and they were great. The Puma has more style than a Tigra and a better engine.

  2. I would avoid either - the Puma is just a Fiesta with different body panels, although the 1.7 Yamaha engine is good if you must buy one.

    The Tigra is a similar concept, but although based on the averagely reliable Corsa, they seem to suffer from a catastrophic reliability record overall.

    Good unbiased advice here - Puma;

    Tigra;

  3. my friends mother had a vauxhall tigra MTV summer time edition for many years but because the tigra is classed as a sports car they will not insure you unless you are over 25 as for the puma apparently they are all right cars and the insurance will be cheaper

  4. Puma

  5. I had a puma and I loved it.  Very reliable - no problems with it at all - unlike my alfa romeo but that's a different story.  Visibility is not that great - the back window is tiny but you get used to it.

    My friend had a Tigra - the engine fell out when driving it on the motorway - a known fault due to faulty mountings apparently......

  6. Go for the Puma, if you can get the 1.7 its the best engine size

    on insurance their is not much to chose between the 2 the only fault about the puma is the steering wheel as its leather it can be worn around 9-00 - 3-00 o'clock mark and also the s***w covers on the wipers do not stay on ( about 40pence to purchase)

  7. if you are a bloke it has to be a Puma. Unless you are a hairdresser that is.
