Ford won't sell to Americans fuel saving car?

I just recieved the following info below. Does anyone know the truth about this????

Ford produces a 1.4 diesel turbocharged diesel engine that they refuse to

sell to US consumers. The reason? The engine gets 62.8 Miles per gallon

Highway.

You can help spread this news and spread that Ford refuses to save us money,

and would rather force us to buy fuel from the Arabs.

If you want to verify, then go to...

When I contacted the Ford Motor Company, they said in essence that Americans

do not want a fuel saving car.

No, what I figure is that Ford wants to continue to build mountains with

wheels and maximize their profit margin. My guess is that they are getting

major kickbacks from the oil companies to do this.

If you help, we can send Ford a message. Quit jerking us around. Treat us

  1. This is one of many reasons I am through buying from GM, Ford, and Dodge/Chrysler.

I just bought a car made overseas.  During a recent trip the car averaged around 34 mpg while traveling between 75 and 80 mph.  That's with two people and luggage.

I would prefer to buy domestic, but the Big Three, with Ford in particular, have turned their back on the small car market.  I hope Ford goes bankrupt.

As for Ford's response that Americans do not want a fuel saving car, that is a big lie.  Seemingly overnight Americans have just about killed off SUVs.  How much has Ford lost this year?  I believe the losses are in the billions.  That wouldn't be the case if Ford offered a good quality fuel saving car.  Also one that fits us 6 footers.

As of right now, I have no need for many, many years to consider buying a Ford.

Good Bye Ford.  And good riddance!

  2. Those Ford diesel cars do not meet the Environmental Protection Agency's emissions standards, so they are not street-legal in the United States.  That's why they are not allowed to be sold here.

Only a few diesel cars meet the EPA's standards and are allowed to be sold in the United States.  Here's the list of 2009 diesel cars that meet EPA standards and are street-legal in the U.S.:  http://www.fueleconomy.gov/f*g/compx2008...

  3. this doesn't surprise me at all. I just saw a report about an electric car made in Canada that the government won't let them sell here because it hasn't passed safety tests. it is sold in other countries, but where it's built you can't buy it.
