Forehand problems in tennis?

i keep hitting the net when trying to apply topspin.any advice to improve this stroke?

hit under the ball really hard. but keep your head still when making contact. practice with a friend to perfect it. gd luck!

make sure you also have enough drive to go with the topspin because too much topspin will result in you hitting to the net while as, having a lot of drive with little or no topspin will result in the ball going out. So when you hit under the ball( to get topspin)  make sure you hit the ball through and extend your arm. Hope this helped.

I used to do this. I just stuck at it and i can do topspin winners  now. Every so often i'll hit the net or hit a wild one but if ur like me, you'll just randomly learn if you keep trying

You should change to continental grip, it keeps your ball a little bit higher so when you swing , your ball won't be hitting the net that often. You probably tried to do topspin by doing the eastern grip; there is nothing wrong with it, just that you have to hit the ball the little bit higher and it's probably unnatural for you...

I hit very flat but my coach told me to really try and add a lot of top spin onto the ball so it gives me consistency. I then started to hit into the net and my coach told me to aim really high as the topspin will bring it back down again and you will find that it won't be going that high over the net.

Good luck i found it one of the hardest strokes to make perfect thank god for the two-handed backhand.

i suspect your grip is wrong in the first place. The most comfortable grip is the natural one to use but is often wrong. Get a book from the library on tennis technique.

Also, pretend the net isn't there. Sometimes people get obsessed with getting it over the net, ie it goes over and dips but only half-court. Aim to hit it deeper (not higher, although it seems like the same thing)
