Foreign Countries voltage problems: Would my HDD work in 220Volt?

It says on the AC Adapter the following :

Input : 100-240V - 50-60hZ - 1.0A

Output : 12V = 2A

Now Im not in Canada but in a 220V country. Would my HDD work or do I need a transformer or something?

  1. "Input: 100 - 240V" means any voltage from 100 to 220 would work, so you are good to go with 220V.

  2. you are fine, those voltage and frequency numbers cover every country. But you may need a plug adaptor to change the plug you now use to the type used wherever you are going. You can get these anywhere for a few dollars US.

Even if I have no idea what a HDD is.
