Question:

Foreign Exchange student programs to Japan or Korea advice?

I understand the whole process, and I am planing to go in about 2 more years if my schedule can handle it, if not I'll do a summer program. But I wanted to hear from people who have actually been apart of the program and how it was for them. Were the people open? Was it difficult to get to know people? Did you have a assigned student to help? Was the classes you took harder? maybe because of the language barrier? I know I'm throwing a lot of questions out, but I want to hear answer form people who have actually traveled rather then the counselors.

  1. well i've done an exchange program in japan before, but i only homestayed for a week so i didn't have to study their school material. my buddy's english was pretty good so communication consisted of engilsh and still, lots of sign language. but i noticed by the end of the week i've picked up a few key words! people were all very nice to me. japanese people are very polite. my buddy introduced me to her friends who were also really nice and they asked a lot of questions about canada so it was pretty easy to make conversation.
