Foreign force in Thailand. Anyone have any knowledge of Malaysia and SIngapore army stationed in Thailand?

During the communist threat, there was a few groups of classified force stationed there. I wish to know more about the groups and their activities.

Those who have knowledge about them, please contribute. Others, especially those from US or the West, please feel free to skip this question.

I have been looking for this answer.  Met an old ranger trained soldier last week.  He told me that while in service some 20 years back, he did heard of this operation, but it was highly classified.

As gathered, this operation was sort of forward early warning in nature.  That troops of specialised troop were there in Udon Thani to  act as first line of defence too, as they don't fully trust the Thais, for the Thais has in 2 occations betray their friendly neighbours.

As far as I understand, when those boys (should be in their 40's now) came back to Singapore, they no more able to lead a normal lives.
