Question:

Foreign object in my prepackaged turkey burger.. Now what?

I was eating a turkey burger that I made for dinner last night. I bit into something hard and when I spit it, I realized it was a small metal object. I immediately shot off an email to the company and they called me today. They want to pick up the metal object and analyze it. Is there anything I should do before I hand it off?

  1. I would take pictures of it and i dont know if you should give it to them unless they sighn a paper or something from your lawyer saying that they will return it or something. do you plan on suing?

  2. take pictures, get all the info on the box of burgers (or keep the box)

Have them sign something so they can't say it never happened.

good luck... what a way to ruin a good turkey burger.

  3. yh u need to at least get some pictures of this and get them 2 sign them b4 they take it away ,otherwise once they take it what proof do u have . most firms r ok depending on who it is but at the end of the day nobody wants bad publicity ,so im pretty sure they will get 2 the bottom of it they dont rush these things though. goodluck

  4. Document that you had it - get pictures, get a receipt from the person that picked it up, etc.

But if you didn't have any damage, be happy with a $25 coupon for more turkey burger.  In my opinion, the people who use this sort of thing to try to extort money from the manufacturer are greedy leeches.  If you can't show significant injury, you're not entitled to anything like that.

  5. Take pictures of it, document the email and if anything, have them sign a document that states that they did in fact come pick it up.
