  1. I think that's a little harsh. There are some extremely beautiful places in Britain.

I did find it a great place to visit but I would never want to live there again unless I was getting paid well and could afford a comfortable lifestyle.

  2. the cities can be yes but the countryside is amazing ...

  3. I live in Britain, and whereas I wouldn't call it a DUMP, many of the big cities that began to flourish during the Industrial/Victorian era (such as Newcastle or Manchester) have many ugly and tight-packed buildings which can look rather unfriendly - especially to suburban American tourists who are used to neat lawns and big houses.

Some places really are beautiful. If you look buildings like Oxford University (which has an amazing Botanic Garden), or the countryside, places like Devon, Cornwall, Brighton, etc...Maybe even some of the national parks.

Overall, it's a nice place. Crappy areas can't be avoided when you have such a high population and huge cities though.

  4. I live here and I think it's full of celebrity - reality TV obsessed chavs. I can't even buy woman's magazines any more as everywhere I go that pig nosed, bodged up boobed Victoria beckham is everywhere, or some other dumb wag.  That's  just the people though.

  5. England has many beautiful towns and natural areas.

England's larger cities have many attractive parts - they also have some not-so-nice parts, but that is inevitable in any large city that people actually live in and work in, as opposed to a city that only exists for tourists (e.g. Venice).  London is a city of millions, and while a few of its neighborhoods are dumps, there are many fascinating and beautiful places there also.

  6. no, britain is beautiful
