Question:

Foreigner becoming a permanent student in Japan?

I live in Canada and I'm going into grade 10. I know very little Japanese but I'd like to go to school there. Are there any programs in Japan like the ESL (English as a Second Language) in Canada? Or are there any ways possible for me to go live there and go to school there?

Also, what kinds of things would you have to know/be skillful at for your application to be more preferable? Things like knowing different languages, having good grades. Are things like that a big deal when you apply? And also, where would you apply?

I need all the info/help I can get. So any information be great!

Thanks!

  1. Hello, I'm sorry, but I have no answer to just, I just wanted to ask you that if you find anything out about this please send me an email. The only difference is that I live in the US, but this has been one of my dreams for years. So if you find out some information on the topic, would you send me an email about, if you dont mind. Thanks...

  2. There are some international schools in and around the major cities.  The curriculum is primarily in English in these schools.  These schools can be quite expensive though.  Also, I've never heard of a homestay program here like they have in Canada.
