A year ago I tried to find any one else that had their Home owners policy Recinded or Canceled after they put in a claim for Loss with Foremost Insurance Co.??? Without any luck, so am trying again.... I had a burgulary and when I sought to recover and put in a claim for the loss of my tools and other items, my policy was recinded.... after their investigator failed to intimidate me to drop the claim, with threats of prosecution for fraud.....(legitimate claim) I am in Arizona and have been told this is becoming quite common here.... The AZ Insurance Commission 'buys' anything the Insurance Companies tell them .... does not back up victims of such fraud by these companies? Make victims jump through hoops and go to much trouble and expense to make any recovery.... If you know of any such similar cirumstance happening to you or others please let me know....

  1. I wholeheartedly agree with mbrcatz1.  When I was an active agent, I wrote hundreds, if not thousands, of policies with Foremost.  They are one of the most stand up companies in the industry.  I never had any problems with them, including claims adjusting.  They paid like clockwork on all of the claims that were submitted.

Now they, like all insurance companies, are not going to cover things that are excluded.  In your case, there must be something that you are not telling us.  Foremost wouldn't just rescind a policy for no cause.

  2. I've written a LOT of policies with Foremost.  I've never seen this happen, although of course it's theoretically possible.

If your tools are for BUSINESS, then the homeowners policy is allowed to limit them.  If they're trying to rescind a policy, then that means they think there was some kind of fraud when you filled out the application.  They're aren't a LOT of questions on that ap, but they ARE very thorough.  The "is there any" kind of.  And if you said no, but the real answer is yes, well, that could be a problem.

Generally, Foremost is a great high risk, low value homeowners company that writes policies other companies won't touch with a ten foot pole.
