  1. This is an increasingly popular specialty of archaeology in which human remains are studied to learn about the person's life and death.  There are quite a few programs offered now in American universities, and more and more police departments are hiring people with such backgrounds to do investigative work.

  2. It would seem to be a study of how ancient people died as well as what they ate, burial customs and height weight etc. during different time periods.

  3. Forensic archaeology is applying the same techniques used in forensic anthropology to archaeological specimens.  Forensic anthropologists only work on bodies that are from the past 50 years, so anything over that can technically be considered archaeological but specimens are usually a bit older than that.  Forensic archaeology will only deal with skeletal remains, giving height, race, gender, and if the individual had any diseases or disorders(which is also referred to as paleopathology).  Anything else about the culture of the individual is dealt with by another archaeologist or anthropologist specializing in that.
