Forensic pathology pathways?

.I am in year 9 choosing my electives for year 10. I was wounding just to give me that bit of help in getting me to the spot I want in the future what would be the best electives to pick? The electives for science are Biology, chemistry, environmental and robotics, in the VET unit there is phycology and i have been doing that at my old school although i am moving school next year and it is more advanced should I keep going with it? Will i need it? Also would i need to be really highly educated in maths? if there is anything else that i you might no that might help me out please don’t be afraid to tell me. I know that i don’t have to learn all this now but i would like to no what might help me. Thanks i no there is alot of questions but if you could help it would be awesome

  1. Yes, you will need math, and I would take at minimum biology, chemistry, microbiology (if you have).  Any additional chemistry and biology would be good, and you should also take physics, which requires math as well.


  2. Don't mean to burst your bubble here.  Quite frankly - there aren't that many jobs in forensics (and they are NOT anything like CSI)  I got into science and hate it now.  I still love biology but the work is nothing like what you train for.  

    only the TOP students in the Uni courses get selected to work in forensic lab.  

    You need Maths.  Don't discount it.  Biology, chemistry, are desirable but PHYSICS would be very beneficial.  

    The best way to find out is to look at this years university entrance requirements to see if you NEED to take any particular subjects and what OP or tertiary entrance score you need to get into uni.  Use that to help make your descision.
