Forensic pictures?

I have a few pictures of a man i believe is my great grandfather.He was my grandfathers father.Is there a forensic person who can match the picture with my grandfathers picture or a picture of me or any of my relatives to see if this man is my relative?

  1. I'm sure there's someone out there who claims to be able to do that.

    I've found very reliable sources in my Aunts, my parents' cousins, and even people I've met on family surname message boards.  Another possibility is if your grandfather and/or great grandfather lived in a very small town (like less than 5000 population), you may find some great information (and possible photos) at the local historical society in that town.  I found that my ggg grandparents were the first white settlers in a small township in Minnesota!

    I'd strongly recommend trying every living relative (and very distant relative!) you can find, and asking them if they can identify the photos.  Someone in your family likely has the same photo(s) in a scrapbook, labeled with a name and possibly a date.  Especially with those professional-photographer photos, I've found just about every branch of the family has a copy of the best photo(s)!
