Forest Breeze stands first in BOOKMAKERS DASH at Henlow on Jan 19

Forest Breeze dominated the proceedings from pillar to post, winning BOOKMAKERS DASH at Henlow on Thursday, January 19, 2012.
The 277 metre long Grade Open Race (OR) saw Ballymac Maeve’s son out of Forest Angel leading rest of the contestants throughout the heat. Enjoying the odds of 2 to 1, the dog was the most favourite to grab top position.
Living up to expectations, the blue and brindle hound covered the distance in 17.14 seconds, winning a cash prize of £150.
The runner-up, Dream Walker, showed a good fight, but failed to challenge the winner. His starting price was 11 to 2, as the black dog started the party from the second stall.
The son of Black Shaw out of Madam Hero retained second place all the way through, covering the area in 17.24 seconds.
Flying Guard, trained by N Colton, ended up among top-3, completing the distance in 17.42 seconds. With the odds of 10 to 1, he was the least favourite hound in the race. The black and white dog showed early pace, but went wide afterwards.
As a result of his inconsistency, the son of Saleen Knight out of Avaheen Chloe had to give a lot of effort to nab the third place. He finished just a head's distance ahead of Fifis Rocket, who finished fourth on the table.
Brett Lee’s son out of Droopys Ruby was holding the odds of 5 to 2, breaking in from the third stall. Since he got crowded initially, he was unlikely to give top-3 hounds a tough time.
However, C. Allsopp’s trainee returned strongly and ran on, reaching the post in 17.44 seconds.
The last two positions belonged to Hi There Rocky and Ministry Mayhem, respectively. It was a crowded run up by the fawn dog, who finished fifth in the list.
The son of Hondo Black out of Raggletagglrosie was carrying the winning chances of 6 to 1, starting his run from the fifth trap. He concluded the race in 17.60 seconds, two lengths ahead of the back marker.
The last on the chart, Ministry Mayhem, wrapped up the event in 17.78 seconds. K. Findlay’s trainee's starting price was 4 to 1, as he began his run from the fourth stand.
After displaying three brilliant performances, Forest Breeze finished fourth in the last event. And had he not lost the previous heat, the BOOKMAKERS DASH would have been his fifth consecutive triumph.
