10/9 is as simple as it gets.

I would say it's already simplified as 10/9 because usually in your high school math classes you don't want mixed fractions like 1 1/9

9 goes into 10 how many times? 1

How many are left after that?  10-9=1

So it's 1 whole and 1/9 tenths because you put the left overs on the top (1) and the bottom number (9) on the bottom.
