Format error! on WMA downloads

Question

I got this for Christmas and so far only downloads from CD will play. I have downloaded some 30 songs from Wal-Mart only to find that they won't play. They ARE WMA files, I DID use windows Media Player on my XP and I too get teh Sync error message EVERY time.I was hoping to have all my music tomorrow for an all day event. I'm beyond frustrated ... someone PLEASE HELP!
