Question:

Formatting images in Microsoft Word 2000? it won't work!?

I try to paste pictures into my document and then I right-click and format the picture, alignment & text-wrapping settings. Then I go to move the picture and it loses all the settings. Also I try to move pictures and they refuse to move, or I drag them where I want them on the screen, and then they show up somewhere on the page far away from where I tried to place them. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions or help? What can I do to make the formatting I set (and then click OK) STAY? What can I do to make pictures move where I drag them, and not somewhere else?

  1. The wrapping style for the picture has a big impact on how it reacts to changes.

Double-click the picture, select "Layout" and then select either "In line with text" or "In front of text"

The first means they are treated like a "big character" amd will just move as you type, press Enter, etc.

The second allows them to be positioned and text to flow around them.
