Former A.S Roma striker Mirko Vucinic completes his move to Juventus: Serie A news
Former A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mirko-Vucinic-c26024, has completed his move to Italian giants, Juventus, for a fee in the region of 15-million-Euros.
Vucinic has been linked with a move away from Stadio Olimpico Rome for the past few months, after the player refused to accept a new contract at Roma. The Montenegrin international wanted out of Roma after an unsettling 2010/11
campaign. New manager, Luis Enrique, and Sporting Director, Walter Sabatini, tried their best to convince him to stay but their efforts went in vein.
The former Lecce star had been linked with a host of clubs in the past few weeks. English sides, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United were believed to be leading the race for the striker but Juventus’ interest was always lurking.
The Turin giants have tied the player on a four year contract and have confirmed it on their official website.
An official statement on club’s website read: "Juventus Football Club announces that the agreement with AS Roma for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Mirko Vucinic has been finalized.”
"The contract envisages the payment by Juventus of 15 million Euros in three years. Juventus and the player have signed a four-year contract of employment."
The Turin giants had initially targeted a move for Argentine striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giuseppe-Rossi-c15027, but after missing out on a deal for both of them they focused their energies on signing Vucinic.

After the capture of Vucinic, Juve will now look to offload fringe strikers, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Amauri-c5381, in the summer transfer window. Several clubs have enquired about the duo and a deal will take place in a few weeks time.
Vucinic joined Roma from Lecce in 2007 and managed to score 63 goals in 200 appearances for the Giallorossi.
