Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit believes Arsenal are cursed

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Petit-c29836 believes that some supernatural power is keeping the Gunners from ending their long-standing trophy drought.
Petit’s comments come in the wake of Arsenal’s exit from three tournaments, leaving them only in contention for the Premier League title.
The Gunners could conceivably have won a quadruple in the ongoing 2010-11 season, having reached the final stages of the FA Cup, Champions League, and the Carling Cup competitions. However, a string of terrible results over the past few weeks has seen Arsenal
crash out of all three tournaments.
It has been the same story for the past six years. The last piece of silverware the Gunners won was the 2005 FA Cup. Since then, Wenger’s men have failed to win a single title, as they always seem to stumble at the finish line. The club almost ended their
drought with the Carling Cup trophy, but they were the architects of their own demise in the final.
It has left former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit wondering whether the Gunners are afflicted with some sort of curse.
Speaking on Arsenal’s current predicament, Petit said, “There seems to be a curse around the club at the moment. Arsenal's key players seem to be cracking up. I really hope they win the (Premier League) title because otherwise (manager) Arsene Wenger will
have to ask himself questions.”
Petit is no stranger to glory, having won the double of the FA Cup and Premier League with Arsenal back in 1998. He revealed his disappointment at the fact that his former club has failed to live up to its pedigree in recent seasons, especially since they
are such a complete footballing side.
He added, “This pains me because I am an Arsenal fan. Over the last few seasons if there's a team that's deserved to win a title it's them because of the football they play.”
Arsenal are still in with a shot of ending their trophy curse. They are currently in second place in the League table, three points behind leaders Manchester United.
