Former Arsenal player Ian Wright thinks Jose Mourinho is perfect for Manchester City – Premier League update
Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes that Jose Mourinho is the perfect candidate to manage Manchester City. Mourinho has made his intentions clear of returning to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 one day and Wright is happy to welcome the Portuguese back.
The ex-England striker said, "The Premier League could welcome back one of its greatest stars this summer. And I'd be absolutely delighted. It's been more than three years since Jose Mourinho left http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and, since that day, English football has been all the poorer."
Wright believes that Mourinho’s decision depends on how far Real Madrid go in the UEFA Champion’s League this year. “If Real Madrid get booted out of the Champions League by Lyon tomorrow, he could be available even sooner", the Englishman said.
The Arsenal legend analysed different destinations where the Portuguese could end up. He believes that Mourinho is not an ideal candidate to replace Sir Alex Ferguson because he is totally different to the Scott and will not become a success at Old Trafford.
The 47-year-old has tipped the Barcelona manager to succeed Alex Ferguson, as he thinks that the Spaniard is more suited to the role at the Theatre of Dreams. Wright further added that one day http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Neville-c14447 will become a very successful manager at Manchester United.
He believes that Mourinho will never end up at Arsenal because the people in control don’t want him. The Portuguese wants to be at a club where he has total control over the cheque book, which isn’t the case at Arsenal.
The former Celtic striker is not sure how the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 fans will treat Mourinho. He thinks that they might absolutely love him or totally hate him. It can be a huge gamble of him joining Liverpool, especially if he is unable to deliver instant success. Wright considers ‘The Special One’ as an ideal candidate to take over at Tottenham Hotspur but he believes that this would not happen immediately as Harry Redknapp is doing a splendid job at White Hart Lane.
He finally said that Chelsea owner Roman Abrahamovic would be regretting his decision to part Company with Mourinho. The Special One brought home the league title after 50 years for the Blues and could have won the Champion’s League had he stayed.
