Former Atlanta Braves’ Chipper Jones completes a home-run of girl friends-Part 1
Karin Fulford, Hooters waitress, Sharon Logonov and Taylor Higgins are the four bases that Chipper Jones has traversed now. It is the home-run that has come after his retirement but the one that, far from pleasing fans, has taken his reputation of being
amicable and a courteous figure in the Major League Baseball back from him.
His star worth, which was considered once as infallible and rock solid, is melting down fast. One after another, the break-ups and new match-ups are disturbing for his fans who usually think of him as an honest and a loyal person.
Jones is one of those players in the game that are respected by the baseball gurus as much as by others outside the sport. His professionalism along with the interest in social activities and help destitute in making him an honourable sportsman.
Certainly, cheating wives and parting ways with them as soon as he is tired of them is not helping him in this regard.
While when it happened for the first time, it could be condoned. When he was reported to have an extra-marital affair with the Hooters waitress, his first wife, Karin Fulford could partly be blamed for this.
He could be forgiven on the grounds that he may have had serious differences developed with Fulford and that it was nearly impossible for him to come to terms with her.
However, committing the same act twice and doing it while he has a beautiful wife gives us a reason to believe he is a habitual cheater. Even if he has 100 wives, he is going to find someone in the hotel alone and put his heart on her, disregarding what
those sitting at home can feel after being ditched and deceived by him.
It remains to be seen how he is going to kick the latest entry of a Playboy cam girl, Taylor Higgins in his heart, out of it. After the divorce with Sharon Logonov finalised, Jones immediately announced the name of his new girl friend, in a way as if he
has achieved something spectacular.
He was proud of sending Logonov home and replacing her with Higgins.
All the talk of leaving baseball because of his family and giving proper time to the wife seems ridiculous as Jones shows little regard for it.
On a number of occasions before retirement, reporters asked him why he is calling time when he can play for another couple of seasons. In almost all the occasions, his answer reflected his deep love for the family and how he felt he has done injustice to
his kids and wife by not spending time with them owing to baseball commitments.
Jones talked immediately after playing his last game against the St. Louis Cardinals, which his team the Atlanta Braves lost. He was of the view that retirement is not making him feel regretful as to why he took this decision, because he had already made
up his mind.
“This is a lot easier than I thought it would be than five years ago when I thought this moment would come,” Jones said. “That lets me know that I’m ready. I think if I were in here sobbing uncontrollably that it would be painfully apparent that I wasn’t
ready to walk out the door, but I’m ready.”
He rightly took the opportunity to keep his fans consider that he is leaving baseball due to a special need of running his family.
