Former Barcelona playmaker Luis Suarez believes Josep Guardiola won’t decline Inter Milan offer
Former Barcelona playmaker, Luis Suarez, believes that Josep Guardiola would not snub Inter Milan should the managerial position be offered to him. Suarez revealed that he had a conversation with Guardiola and the current Barcelona manager seemed excited
at the prospect of managing Inter Milan.
The 40-year-old tactician is currently serving his managerial duties with the Catalan giants Barcelona and recently signed a contract extension with Los Cules. Suarez, however, seemed confident that the manager would not even give it a second thought if
it comes to choosing between Barca and Inter.
Some reports suggest that the current Nerazzurri manager, Leonardo http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Araujo-c6435, is expected to step down from his duties and Inter’s President Massimo Moratti has tipped Guardiola to replace the Brazilian.
76-year-old Suarez added that Guardiola previously mentioned that he is looking for a challenge and would never say ‘No’ if he gets an opportunity in Italy. Pep has led the Spanish giants in the best possible manner he could ever since he took charge of
Barcelona’s senior squad in 2008.
As a manager, Guardiola has led his side to two La Liga titles (2008/09, 2009/10), one Copa del Rey title in 2009 and a UEFA Champions League title in 2009. He also led his side to FIFA Club World Cup glory in 2009.
Suarez praised the 40-year-old manager highly, saying that he has won everything in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 in a short time period and hoped to see him in Italy for the upcoming 2011/12 season.
Suarez concluded his remarks by saying, "I have known Pep a very long time and if he was to want a new adventure then Inter will be the right team for him. He would do well in Italy. But Inter must decide. I have not consulted anyone on this, but I can say
Guardiola would not say no to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567. In Spain he has won everything, and if Inter need him I would like to see him in Milan."
Guardiola has once again led his side into the final of UEFA Champions League, where face Manchester United at Wembley later this month. Guardiola’s Barcelona defeated the same opposition in the 2009 final and the Spaniard would be hopeful of repeating the
feat.
