http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oriol-c28659 Romeu looks to stay with Chelsea at least until 2013, his agent confirmed that the Spaniard would remain with the Blues and resist the urge to return to La Liga giants Barcelona.
Barcelona initially sold the youngster in the off season and it is believed they can re-sign him for a fee of £8.3 million in 2012 or for £12.5 million in 2013. However, Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas claimed that the only way Romeu could return back to
Barcelona was if the Blues allowed it.
His agent claimed there was a possibility that Romeu could return to Barcelona sometime in the future but revealed the youngster was currently happy at Chelsea. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 under-21 international has been provided an opportunity of regular football at Stamford
Bridge and will not want to leave any time soon.
Romeu’s agent said in an interview:
“Will Romeu return? His dream before leaving was to be a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 player and that still stands, but we cannot ignore the opportunity Chelsea have provided.”
Since signing for the Blues in the summer of 2011, Romeu has made a total of 15 appearances in all competitions for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. He is somewhat of a regular starter under Villas-Boas, who thinks the Spaniard fits perfectly into his squad.
The player’s agent revealed:
“Oriol has made a name for himself in the Premier League and is playing regularly. We're committed to the club and we cannot leave them hanging.”
Despite claiming that he wanted to remain with Chelsea for the time being, his agent did not entirely rule out the possibility of a return to Barcelona. He claimed that as long as the player felt it was appropriate to return to the Catalan side, he would
do so.
He also revealed that his possible return depended upon whether or not he was developing at the London side. As far as his buyout clause goes, his agent confirmed Romeu would not be leaving any time before 2013. He continued:
“We'll have to see if it's appropriate for the club and the player. We need to know if he'll keep developing at Chelsea and playing.
Maybe it will be more convenient to stay for another year and then return in 2013.”
