Former Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam eyes trophies with Liverpool
Former Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam recently completed a move to Liverpool for £7 million. The 25-year-old revealed he was looking forward to bringing the Reds to winning ways and hoped to win trophies with them in the upcoming season.
Ever since taking over from Roy Hodgson in the middle of last season, Kenny Dalglish identified his fellow countryman Charlie Adam as his prime target. Adam said he was pleased that the deal with Liverpool, which almost collapsed during negotiations, had been concluded. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 international decided to leave Blackpool after the side were relegated at the end of last season.
Adam said while speaking to reporters:
“It has been a long process but now I can't wait to get started and hopefully this will be a successful period in my career and in the club's history.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 on the other hand, finished sixth on the English Premier League. Unfortunately they failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League or the Europa League, but will hope to come back stronger in the upcoming season.
The new Reds midfielder said he was confident he could help Liverpool return to winning ways and maybe even go on to win the English Premier League. Since they will not be involved in Europe, they can focus all their energy in the domestic league.
The 25-year-old midfielder revealed:
“Hopefully we can have a successful period because it's been missing now for a couple of years.
At the end of the day you get judged on trophies and as a footballer you want to win as many as you can.”
The midfielder said he was extremely lucky to be able to play for a club as big as Liverpool, under a manager like Kenny Dalglish, whom he considered to be one of the greatest managers’ in the English Premier League.
Adam continued:
“Kenny has a terrific respect from players and people in the game.
He is a wonderful manager and it's an honour to be able to say I'm going to be able to play for Liverpool.”
