Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 midfielder Joe Cole might be on his way out of Liverpool
In one of the least surprising stories, it seems like Joe Cole might be on his way out of Liverpool, despite having joined the Reds at the start of the current Premier League season.
The player did manage to pick up a goal this past weekend for the Reds, however, it is safe to say that the midfielder’s career at Liverpool has been nothing short of a disaster. His career has ranged from missed penalties, to red cards, to being injured more often than he has been fit for the team.
At the same time, Liverpool have been currently planning a major overhaul for the team, which can only mean the demise of the England international at the club.
An insider at Liverpool is quoted to have said, "It's tough on Joe because he is a great kid. But things just haven't worked out for him. Kenny is building a new Liverpool with the likes of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez and he wants to bring in more new players in the summer. And, unfortunately, that means Joe will be surplus to requirements."
If these comments do happen to be true, then all they do is reinforce the doubts and assumptions that everyone had already made about the player’s future at the club.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Cole-c18694 made his move to Anfield as part of a free transfer at the start of the 2010 season and was made to sign a four-year contract at the club. The player was handed the number 10 jersey at the club and was thought to be the ‘Messi’ that Liverpool needed.
Cole went on to make his debut for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Trabzonspor-c40759, the player went on to miss a penalty kick. All in all, despite being terrible at making first impressions, the player failed to make a very good third or fourth impression at the club as well. In the 28 appearances that he made for the team, he has only managed to score three goals.
Given Dalglish’s mentality and winning attitude, the manager is bound to point Cole in the direction of the first team that comes looking for the player. At the moment, the team are valuing the player in at a price range between six to ten million pounds. However, even the Reds are well aware of the fact that they might have to settle for less than that.
At the moment, West Ham are the favourites to land the player and should the player make the move to the Hammers, then he would potentially end his career at the club which brought him into the footballing world.
