Former Columbia goalkeeping coach Oscar Cordoba wants Radamel Falcao to join Arsenal – Report
Former Columbia goalkeeping coach Oscar Cordoba wants Porto’s star player, Radamel Falcao, to prove his abilities at the highest stage and transfer to English Premier League giants, Arsenal.
The 25-year-old was in red hot form last season and bagged 39 goals. His performances for the Dragons have attracted several big clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea but all of the potential suitors have been warded off with his €45 million
price tag.
It was reported that London outfit Chelsea were closing in on the striker and were prepared to match his release clause, but the rumours have cooled in recent times.
Cordoba believes that Falcao should pick the Emirates Stadium as his next destination rather than Stamford Bridge because the quality of football played by Arsene Wenger’s men is far superior to other clubs.
"I'd rather see him at Arsenal, which is a team that plays different”
The former Coffee Growers International has also said that it was his dream to play for the Gunners but he could not achieve it as he narrowly missed out.
“It was a dream that I could not. But I was pretty close, “Cordoba was quoted as saying.
However, a move to the Carling Cup finalists looks very unlikely for Falcao as he recently penned a new deal at Estadio do Dragao. More importantly, the financial model established at the London outfit is strict and the club has been limited to grooming
quality players rather than signing them.
While Arsene Wenger occasionally gets out the chequebook to lure a player or two, never has the Frenchmen splashed so much cash on single player. The striker moving to the helm is more difficult given that he is out of the monetary reach of even the current
English Premier League champions, Manchester United.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276 having committed his future to the Dragao for the at least a couple of seasons, it is highly unlikely that a club like Arsenal will be breaking the bank to secure his services regardless of how many goals he scores.
