Former Everton player Joleon Lescott looking to join Liverpool in January
Joleon Lescott, who was signed by Manchester City in an outrageous transfer that saw City stump out around twenty four million pounds for the player seem to be on the verge of losing the player for far less than that.
Lescott recently came forth and admitted the fact that he was looking to find his way out of the Eastlands because of finding it close to impossible to get regular time on the pitch and as a result, most of the teams in the Premier
League have been put on high alert.
The player, who was once the best defender in the Premier League, happens to find himself being dropped all the way back to be the third choice defender at the club and as a result has started to get frustrated with the team.
Lescott is reported to have said, “I’m not happy with the situation. I don’t enjoy sitting on the bench, and sometimes not even making the bench”.
One of the teams in the Premier League that have been showing the greatest of interests in the player is Liverpool. The team, which Lescott was forced to hate at one point during his Everton career, might just end up being the
team that he plays for in the future.
It is no secret that Liverpool are having their fair share of troubles at the back this season and the fact that the team’s defence has been doing so poorly has been one of the reasons the team has been struggling so far.
If Lescott were to move to Anfield, then he would help provide an extra sense of stability at the back for the Reds. With his ability to play, both, as a centre back and a left back, he just so happens to be the player that the
team may use to full effect. However, the only real question that arises now is; can Liverpool afford the player’s transfer fee?
At the moment City are not stating how much the player would be put on sale for, but according to most experts the player may cost Liverpool around fifteen million pounds and that price will really test Liverpool’s resolve.
