Former German international Karl-Heinz Riedle has hailed Bayern Munich’s recent performances and has a strong feeling that the former league champions will go far in the UEFA Champions League this season. He also praised the Bundesliga
and admitted that the league has grown heavily in the past few years.
Germany will have four teams going in to the UEFA Champions League from next year as they overtook the Italian Serie A in the coefficient rankings. This year three teams from Germany will be taking part in the competition with
the likes of Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund all participating.
Riedle was all praise for the German League and admitted that the DFB is responsible for the success of German football over the last few years. He stated that now the Bundesliga is considered to be one of the biggest leagues in
Europe which is a huge achievement.
However, the former striker claimed that none of the German sides are considered as favourites this season but he has a strong feeling that Bayern Munich will go a long way in Europe’s elite club competition.

Bayern will make it into the quarter or semi-finals at the very least,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to Bundesliga.de.
The former Werder Bremen star refused to name any favourites this year as he insisted that there are a lot of good teams this year. He added that it will be a tough call and that there are no real favourites but remained hopeful
of a German team’s success.
“Who knows, there might even be a surprise this season. There's no way I'm going to be able to predict that though. We'll just have to wait and see,” the former Liverpool striker concluded.
