Former Arsenal and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756, with Celtic a possible destination.
The ex-Arsenal midfielder was part of the invincible squad that went on to win the Premier League in 2002–03. The Gunners number eight was known for his well timed runs, and the ability to pick out the odd pass. Since leaving North London, the Swede has
played for English club West Ham United before making a rather surprising move to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034.
Ljungberg featured for the Seattle Sounders and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390. However it seems that the 33-year-old is on the move yet again with Scotland is potential destination.
Celtic Manager Neil Lennon is looking for a quick fix to bolster his side’s hunt for the SPL title. Moreover, the absence of Ki Sung Yueng and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cha-Du-Ri-c8739 due to the Asian cup has further emphasised the need for reinforcements. Lennon was all praise for the
former Swedish midfielder. He said, "He's (Ljungberg) coming in and he'll have a look at us. We think he's got great calibre. He's been a world-class player for a long time.”
The Celtic manager added, "Freddie had injury problems at West Ham, but he's played over 50 games in the last 18 months in America. His agent contacted us, and we like the idea of it - because he's got a bit of experience.”
Lennon might have a point here. While the basic need for bringing in the former Arsenal man might be as a reinforcement for some regular players, Ljungberg brings more to the table. The winger might have lost a couple of yards of pace at his age, but he
most certainly has a strong and experienced head on his shoulders. Secondly, the SPL is relatively a less-physical version of the English Premier League, which could further help the Swede adapt quickly. The 33-year-old is also relatively cheaper as compared
to other replacements. All in all, it seems like good value for money.
