Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev says that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Z-Khan-c98379 will have to deliver an extraordinary comeback – Cricket News Update
In a recent affair, former Indian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kapil-Dev-c70234, stated that the country’s fast bowler, Zaheer Khan, will have to deliver something extraordinary in order for him to make a potent comeback, following some persistent injuries developed by the pacer,
especially at a wrong age during his cricket career.
“If a fast bowler starts getting injured at the wrong side of age, the recovery is very difficult. He would have to do something extraordinary to come back, otherwise he would play a few matches and get injured again,” said Dev.
During the recent Test series against the English hosts, Khan stepped off from the squad after suffering from a hamstring injury that forced the bowler into missing out on the remaining fixtures. The player suffered the damage right in the opening Test match
at Lord’s, on July 21, following a spell worth 13.3 overs, which also included 2 wickets.
This does not come as the first time for Khan to suffer from a hamstring injury. The left-arm bowler has being making quite frequent exits from India’s seasons following injuries, especially during his cricketing span between 2004 and 2005.
However, Khan still stands out as one of the leading attacking bowlers for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292.
The player marked his presence on the Indian national squad in late 2000, making his debut under both the format, Test and One Day International (ODI).
Khan’s decade long career has earned him an exceptional goodwill across the domestic and International cricketing arena. His impressive numbers include 273 Test wickets from a lot of 70 matches and 273 wickets from 191 ODI games.
As for Dev’s remarks, the former skipper stated, “we have produced so many fast bowlers in the last 15 years. But unfortunately, everyone has met with injuries. Being overworked is one thing. But they have also spent a lot of time in the gym rather than
out on the field”.
The cricketer also added that making money, in this case, from the all-famous Indian Premier League (IPL), is one thing; however, it is also a requisite to perform for what you get.
