Former Italy coach Marcello Lippi ready to make a comeback to football – Serie A news
The veteran Italian manager Marcello Lippi is ready to make his comeback to the world of football. The former Juventus coach is expected to be back but this time outside Italy as he has confirmed.
Lippi was the Italy’s international team coach in 2006 and the team brought home the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The former midfielder has been linked to many big names and the most recent contestant for the acquisition is the Russian outfit Spartak Moscow after
their head coach Valery Karpin resigned from his position.
Juventus are also keen to lure their former coach back to Turin but the former Italy international is looking to stay out of the Italian outfits.
Talking to the media recently, Lippi revealed that he cannot work under Juve’s current management.
Lippi said, “I would prefer a national team and there is a 98 per cent chance I will coach abroad. They have clear ideas. When the former leadership was in place I had a possibility to return, now there is a new management and having Andrea Agnelli as the
president is a wonderful thing.”
“In life though you must not exclude anything, so you should never say never. However, this is not me putting myself forward as a candidate. I no longer coach in Italy. I hope a Juventus return never happens as this would mean things are going well there.
But if they needed help in anyway then I would help,” he added.
