Former Italy international Enrico Chiesa insists AC Milan are favourites to win the Italian Serie A
Former Italy international Enrico Chiesa claims that the Rossoneri have a great chance of winning the Scudetto this year as they have been in brilliant form off late and they will have themselves to blame if they don’t achieve this feat.
The former Sampdoria striker was impressed by Milan’s brilliant display in the 2-1 win against Fiorentina over the weekend. He added that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and Inter Milan are still in contention for the title but rated Massimiliano Allegri’s side as the favourites.
Chiesa said while speaking to reporters, “Milan showed their class against Fiorentina and their victory was well deserved. They have made a big step toward the title this weekend. This has been a pretty strange championship so far. Napoli are still in the
race for the Scudetto, but so are Inter. I consider Milan to be the favourites to win the league though,”
The Italian tipped the league leaders to win the Scudetto even though they are without http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 for the next three games.
Chiesa revealed that the Milanese side have enough depth in their squad to cope with the Swedish forward’s loss. He insisted that players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-Pato-c4901 can take responsibility in attack and score goals.
The Italian admitted that the Swede made a silly mistake as he was sent off for abusing the referee. Ibrahimovic returned from suspension in the game in Florence after being shown a red card against Bari and will again miss the next three games.
“He obviously made a mistake, but these things happen. I'm convinced that Milan are able to cope without him, but it's a shame that he'll miss three games. He has the quality to decide a match all by himself,” the former Juventus and Inter Milan striker
concluded.
AC Milan lead the Italian Serie A standings with 68 points and are three points ahead of second placed Napoli with six games to go in the season. The Rossoneri have won 20 games out of the 32 played and lost four, drawing eight times.
