Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 manager Rafael Benitez’s agent has confirmed that while his client wishes to manage an English Premier League side he had not yet received an offer from Chelsea.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 and are scheduled to play
Bolton Wanderers on the upcoming weekend.
They have not only been disappointed in the domestic league, suffering defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 in the UEFA Champions League. Villas-Boas’ men lost 3-1 to the home side in the first leg of the fixture in the European competition, which has earned them much criticism.
It is believed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is considering sacking Andre Villas-Boas, having never been too patient with underperforming manager’s in the past. The likes of Jose Mourinho, Avram Grant, Luiz Felipe Scolari and Carlo Ancelotti were all
sacked by the Russian billionaire.
Abramovich seems to have no patience for managers who fail to deliver, giving some of the aforementioned gentlemen less than a season to prove themselves. It makes one wonder why Andre Villas-Boas would be considered special enough to be given the rest of
the season to set things right.
According to reports former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez could be next in line to take up the manager’s post at Chelsea. The Spaniard has been linked with a return to the English Premier League and it could be the Blue’s he ends up managing.
His agent http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Garcia Quilon said while speaking to reporters:
“There is nothing official.
It's only media speculation and we have not been approached by Chelsea.
We would only evaluate that possibility once there is an offer.”
Benitez, who spent an unsuccessful spell at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at Ligue 1 and instead wished to manage an English team, preferably in
the Premier League.
He continued:
“Benitez's priority is to coach in the Premier League.”
